Elwood owns Downeast Land Surveying & Development which he has operated since
it's inception in 1993. Elwood was educated at the University of Maine, Penn State, and
Thomas College and has served on many professional committee's and associations;
Executive Committee member of FirstPark as well as Chairman of Design Review
Committee for FirstPark, member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineers
and Surveyors since 1996 (currently a member of the Advisory Committee on Council
Activities), president of the Colonial States Boards of Registration (2001-2003),
currently past president and working on national photogrammetry exam and related
Geographic Information Systems exam development, complaint officer of the Maine
Board of Registration for Land Surveyors (1998-2009), past officer of Maine Society of
Land Surveyors (current member), Chairman of Town of China Select Board and has
held a real estate Broker license since 1978. Elwood lives in China with his wife of 41
years and has 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
